Serko, the company behind Zeno, was tonight announced as the winner of the PwC Hi-Tech Company of the Year category in the New Zealand Hi-Tech Awards.
2020 was the eighth year that Serko was named as a finalist in this category but the first time that the Awards gathering took place virtually, with a huge audience coming together remotely via a livestream.
Darrin Grafton, Serko’s CEO commented
“I am so very proud that Serko has been recognised as 2020’s Hi-Tech Company of the Year. Thank you to our team, our customers and our partners for making this possible. We have been a finalist for eight consecutive years against the best of the best and this time we finally won. We never give up on our goals, we carry on until we win, no matter what, because through consistency and execution we know that success will happen.”
Grafton saved his biggest accolades for the Serko employees; “The biggest thank you goes to my team. You are my heroes. I’m so very proud of what you have achieved, and I’m backing you that you will do even more in the future.”
Most of Serko’s staff from New Zealand, Australia, China and the United States joined the Hi-Tech awards live stream and were able to connect with each other via a company-wide interactive video chat in advance of the award reveal.
Despite a challenging year for the business travel industry that Serko operates in, the company is well placed to capture a greater share of the global business travel marketplace as travel returns post-pandemic and it is actively growing it’s technology and development teams to support it’s growth ambitions.
