Client Solutions

The Marvell Client Adapter solutions are complete reference designs for small footprint, high-performance, low power Wireless LAN for desktop and mobile PC applications.  Solutions are available for 802.11g/b and 802.11a/g/b standards in Mini PCI Type IIIB, PCI, and WLAN on Motherboard form factors. The solutions are based on 2-chip solutions, which are comprised of a SoC and RF chip. The SoC provides a highly reliable and cost-effective solution that integrates baseband, MAC, host interface and an embedded microprocessor. The microprocessor allows both implementations for Wake on WLAN (‘Magic Packet’ and wake on authentication), advanced system monitoring (SMBus based on ASF 1.0 and 2.0 remote management functions), as well as  unique vendor-specific feature implementations for IEEE Power Save, and Quality of Service. The RF chip also integrates an on-chip Power Amplifier and Low Noise Amplifier which minimizes external components and improves manufacturing reliability.

• Full support for Bluetooth co-existence Arbitration using packet traffic and AFH mechanisms to improve performance for both WLAN and Bluetooth in 2.4GHz operation.
• First Wireless LAN client solution to offer Marvell AutoLink technology for end-user, easier setup and network connection. This reduces network support calls and lowers total cost of ownership (TCO).
• Advanced performance improvements such as Marvell PowerStep battery life management technology and Marvell BoostMode for reduced MAC protocol overhead and improved throughput and range.
