Virtual Cable Tester™ Software

The Marvell Virtual Cable Tester™ (VCT) technology allows for simple and easy integration of cable fault diagnostics into physical layer (PHY) devices. Our VCT software solution enables rapid and seamless integration of this valuable functionality into customer applications developed for systems using Marvell Alaska transceivers that support the VCT technology.

Virtual Cable Tester Demonstration Application

Marvell offers a VCT demonstration application with all Alaska transceivers development boards. This application enables demonstration of all supported VCT features, and can be used in conjunction with the development boards to evaluate features prior to system integration.

Virtual Cable Tester Software

Marvell offers standalone software that provides the necessary source code and Application Programming Interface (API) to easily port and integrate VCT functionality into customer applications such as system diagnostics. VCT API is also supported with software packages available with the Marvell Prestera™ families of Ethernet switches and Link Street™ SOHO switch products that integrate VCT technology.
