Prestera™-MX Multi-Layer Metro Switching Packet Processors

The Marvell Prestera™-MX multi-layer switching family is the sixth generation of networking switching products developed by Marvell. The Prestera-MX products are fully integrated and configurable Fast Ethernet Gigabit and 10 Gigabit per second (Gbps) wire-speed packet processors targeted at metropolitan edge and access systems in service provider networks. The processors offer industry-leading features targeting Metropolitan Area Networks (MAN) switching applications, including Layer 2/3 switching, Layer 2 to Layer 7 traffic classification for millions of flows, wire-speed Access Control Lists (ACLs), traffic policing and shaping, granular Service Level Agreement (SLA), IPv4 longest prefix match, Network Address Translation (NAT), and Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) functions. All Prestera-MX devices integrate a powerful switch/routing engine, an advanced traffic management processor, a highly flexible 16 Gbps expansion bus, and interfaces to external memory for extended capabilities.
