GalNet-2+ Switched Ethernet Controllers

Fully compatible with the Marvell GalNet-2 hardware and software architecture, the Marvell GalNet-2+ family integrates memory and switch to provide a flexible Layer 2 platform for Fast Ethernet (FE) and Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) switches. The GalNet-2+ family adds support for advanced Quality of Service (QoS) via line-speed packet prioritization based on the IEEE 802.1p priority tag and/or the Layer 3 Type of Service (ToS) field, supporting Differentiated Services (DiffServ) classification. 

For GbE, the GalNet-2+ controllers integrate both the packet and control memories into the switch controller, providing an unsurpassed level of integration, low chip-count and features.  For Fast Ethernet (FE) applications, the GalNet-2+ controllers offer switch controllers with integrated memory and physical layer (PHY) transceivers.

The GalNet-2+ switched Ethernet controllers are the ideal choice for OEMs who have previously developed products based on the Marvell GalNet architecture, as previously developed software may be quickly migrated to the GalNet-2+, offering substantial time-to-market advantages.
