RD-GalStack
The RD-GalStack reference design implements a stackable 48-port Fast Ethernet plus 1-port Gigabit Ethernet switch using the GT-48302A crossbar switch, six GalNet-2+ GT-48350 8-port Fast Ethernet switch controllers with integrated memory, and one GalNet-2+ GT-48360 single-port Gigabit Ethernet switch controller with integrated memory. The Gigabit Ethernet port is a GBIC connector, supporting operation with a variety of Gigabit Ethernet transceivers (PHYs) and media. GalStack also includes one PMC form-factor slot for addition of a CPU module for managed system development, and the board can be used either with or without management CPU. A stacking module is also available using the GalNet II GT-48301 crossbar switch and LVDS PHYs for intra-stack communications. The entire RD-GalStack is packaged in a 1U 19 form-factor, enabling much higher port density than previously available in stacking systems.
